Elisavet Moutzouri Beifuss, PD MD PhD, joined BIHAM in 2017 as a post-doctorate fellow; from 2019-2023 as a Scientific Research Coordinator and also as a lecturer and since 07/2023 as head of academic career. She graduated in Medicine at the School of Medicine, University of Ioannina in Greece, gaining her MD in 2009. She obtained a MD PhD in Internal Medicine in collaboration with Clinical Biochemistry and the Atherothrombosis Research Center of the University of Ioannina in 2015, supported by scholarships from the Hellenic Society of Atherosclerosis.
Subsequently, she started her clinical training in Internal Medicine in Switzerland, working in Cantonal Hospital of Winterthur and subsequently in Insel-Hospital. She gained her specialization title in General Internal Medicine in 2019 and her PD title in 2022.
PD Dr Moutzouri holds also a CAS (Certified Advanced Studies) in Clinical Research, a post-graduate program offered from the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine and the Clinical Trial Unit at the University of Bern. She is dedicated to pursuing a long-term academic career in General Internal Medicine as a physician engaged in both patient-oriented clinical research and patient care. She has a special interest in researching and advancing the role of precision medicine in primary health care.
